Documents ready for your bank and payment applications

Banks and payment providers ask a new US company the same few questions. Here is what they usually ask, and which of your documents answers each one. Approval is always the provider's decision.

In order

From formation to your application

Each step has its own timing. Applying with complete documents makes the provider's review straightforward.

  1. Form your company

    State processing

Wyoming or Delaware. Companies from either state apply to banks and payment providers.

  2. Wait for your EIN letter

    Separate IRS processing

Providers ask for it, so apply once the letter is in your dashboard.

  3. Arrange an operating address if needed

    Your part

Check whether your provider accepts your business address or asks for a separate one.

  4. Apply to providers whose requirements you meet

    Provider review

Read each provider's current eligibility page first. Founders often apply to more than one.

Questions

Banking questions

Ask about your company
Does formation include a bank account?

No. We provide formation documents and apply for the EIN. Your chosen bank or payment provider decides eligibility and approval, and may request additional documents and address evidence.

Do I need an SSN or ITIN?

Not for our LLC formation and EIN application service. Personal tax filings and banking providers may have additional requirements.

How long does the process take?

State registration and EIN issuance are separate stages, each with its own processing time. Timing also depends on receiving complete information from you. Banking applications follow formation and have a separate review process.
