Refund rules
When you can get a refund, service by service
Each line shows when a refund is still possible and what happens after that point.
- Refundable until a point: Formation (Essentials or Full Compliance, including the EIN, registered agent and mailroom for year one)
Refundable until: We file with the state: full refund.
After that: Nothing. Delays and refusals by the IRS, a state or a bank are never grounds for a refund. - Refundable until a point: Federal tax filing
Refundable until: There is no early cancellation. You get a full refund only if the forms are not ready to sign within 14 days of us having everything we need (the clock pauses while we wait on you) and the filing deadline has not passed.
After that: Once the forms are ready to sign there is no refund, even if they are never signed. - Not a refund: Late-fee balance after a rejected Form 7004 proof
This amount is owed. It is not a refund matter. - Refundable until a point: State compliance filing
Refundable until: We submit it to the state: full refund (our fee and the state fee).
After that: Nothing. The 3% card fee on Delaware C-Corp state amounts is never refunded. - Refundable until a point: Registered agent, first purchase
Refundable until: We are appointed with the state.
After that: Nothing. - Refundable until a point: Mailroom, first purchase
Refundable until: The first mail item is received.
After that: Nothing. - Refundable until a point: Accounting, first purchase
Refundable until: A bank is connected or the first statement is uploaded.
After that: Nothing. - Refundable until a point: Dissolution
Refundable until: We file the articles of dissolution.
After that: Nothing. The state fee is spent. - Refundable until a point: Any yearly renewal
Refundable until: You cancel before the renewal date.
After that: No refund. Cancelling stops the next renewal. - No refund: Full Compliance cancelled mid-term
Cancelling stops the next renewal. There is no partial refund for the term you already paid. - Refundable until a point: We turn you away (identity checks, sanctions or qualification)
Refundable until: Nothing has been filed yet: full refund.
After that: Once something is filed, we refund only the parts we have not delivered. - Always refundable: Duplicate or mistaken charge
Always refunded in full.

How to ask for a refund
Email support@nonresident.tax with the company name or order. We answer within 2 business days.
When the money arrives
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method in 5 to 10 business days.
Currency exchange
If your bank converts currency, we do not cover any difference in the exchange rate.
Government and state fees
Fees are not refundable once we have paid them to the state or the IRS.
Mistakes in our documents
If a document we prepared contains an error, we fix it at no charge.
Before you dispute a charge
Please contact us before disputing a charge. If you dispute, we share our records with your bank: your acceptance of these terms, proof of delivery and our correspondence.
